Dustin Michaels

Growing up the one thing that I had to look forward to during the week was weekend wrestling. I immediately took serious interest in the sport. The first wrestlers I ever remember watching on television were The Armstrongs. Although I was young I still remember every bodyslam, suplex, and clothesline.

July 7, 1996 was the most defining moment of my wrestling life. That was when Hulk Hogan turned on Macho Man, Sting, and Lex Luger to join with The Outsiders Scott Hall and Kevin Nash. They then formed the NWO. That was the day I decided to become a wrestler and make it my career.

February 15, 2003, my dream became a reality as I made my mark on the SEW wrestling fans as I, Dustin Michaels, defeated Mr. Exxxtreme in my debut match. That’s the day I stopped dreaming of becoming a wrestler, and started living life as a wrestler.

After two grueling months of competition at SEW, opportunity had come knocking on my door. Kingpin invited me, a young rookie, to join the Kingpin Stable. Two weeks after being a member of the Kingpin Stable, I, Dustin Michaels, was presented with a golden opportunity. To fight along side Silverado against Big Daddy and Tommy Ladd for the SEW World Tag Team Titles. Lady Luck was on my side as Silverado and I became reigning SWE World Tag Team Champions. That night also made me the FIRST ever rookie to hold gold at SEW. Sadly during the championship match my partner Silverado suffered a knee injury. That left me with one the toughest decisions of my early career. Find a partner within ONE week, or vacate the tag titles. Although I didn’t want to let go of my first biggest accomplishment in the world of professional wrestling, I was given no choice. There was no one who wanted to tag with a rookie. Soon after the titles were vacated Kingpin Stable disbanded and I was left to fight alone.

Soon I crossed paths with a man who called himself Halo. We fought with fury all across Alabama; all the while a winner was never decided. I decided after a month of intense battles and no winner that I had met my match. We agreed that if we joined forced we could be unstoppable. That night was the night The New Hollywood Blondes were unleashed. We ran through SEW with reckless abandon and no intention of stopping. Everything was going out way until we met the brick wall known as Team Extreme, Luke Goldberg and Backstreet Brawler.

After two months of the heated war, with Team Extreme continuing to win, Lady Luck again found her way to my side. That victorious night I did what I had to do. With my feet on the ropes and an oblivious referee Halo and I won a shot at the US Tag Team Titles. The reigning champions, The Law Dogs, were our opponents. To beat them would make us, The New Hollywood Blondes, Champions. They always say that the third time is a charm. In this case it’s true. Our first match Law Dogs took the victory, the second time was a draw, and the third time The New Hollywood Blondes reigned supreme. That was the second time in my first year as a pro-wrestler that I, Dustin Michaels, was wearing gold around my waist.

Once again The New Hollywood Blondes were unstoppable. With the gold around out waist we rocked SEW’s world. Then one fateful night in Cairo, Georgia, we decided to take the night off. Out of nowhere The Law Dogs took to the ring, and stated that they had a rematch clause in their contract, meaning, in simple terms, that they now had the upper hand. They now could decide when, where, and how the match could take place. Unfortunately for us we had no choice but to defend the titles on our one night off. But why shouldn’t we win tonight we ran through everyone else like a hot knife through butter. To our dismay we were outplayed that night as we were thrown through tables and beaten with steel chairs. They may have taken our titles that night but they could never take away our ambition and lust for gold.

Meanwhile back in Dothan, Alabama revenge was the only thing we could think of the only thing we could feel. As the Law Dogs were taking on Big Daddy and Tommy Ladd, we stalked to the ring with steel chairs and one thing in mind. Destroy anything that got in our way. With the odds in their favor, we entered the ring. In the end there were only two men left standing. Those two men were The New Hollywood Blondes. Halo and I effectively destroyed two of the so-called “best” tag teams in SEW.

As we triumphantly walked away with our heads held high, the commissioner, Kenny Rhodes, had come out, stopping us before we could leave. He then said the one thing that could stop the unstoppable. We were suspended indefinitely until further notice.

Halo and I parted ways during out suspension. I took it upon myself to take this time to train intensively by taking what was good and making it better. After two months our suspension came to an end and The New Hollywood Blondes were once again at the bottom of the food chain. We were to start back at square one by defeating Tommy Ladd and Big Daddy. From then on we crushed our competition until we were once again offered the gold. We were to take on Team Extreme, and if we lost we would start back at the bottom, if we won we would be the top tag team at SEW. Sadly we lost, but it wasn’t my fault we lost that night. I did my part. That’s when I decided to split from the tag team world, from my partner of an entire year, and fight for myself, by myself. I ventured from SEW, that birthplace of my career, to explore other career options.

I found my old friend Tommy “Kingpin” King who was my mentor while I was a member of the Kingpin Stable. By then Kingpin had explored his wrestling career options and had founded his own company LAW. Kingpin gave me an offer I couldn’t refuse. He offered me stiffer competition, better work ethic, with a lot less stressful work schedule. Taking him up on his offer I pursued my wrestling career as a singles wrestler. At first I was confused, but after a few matches I got into the swing of things I wrestled for the next three months at LAW losing only two matches. I started to feel homesick for SEW. After all that was the birthplace of Dustin Michaels. With Kingpin’s blessing I made my way back to SEW.

The first night back at SEW was a tense one. My former tag team partner and best friend Halo, who had changed his name to Mark Weiss, confronted me. He told me that the minute he found out that I want back at SEW he wanted a street fight match to prove he was a better wrestler. He had mistakenly thought that the reason I had left after we lost the chance to be the US Tag Team Champions that I didn’t think he was good enough to work with. For the next month we fought. Coming to the same conclusions we had come to almost a year before. I once again decided that if I couldn’t beat him I might as well join him. Mark Weiss and I once again were tag team partners. This time with a new name, we were now known as Terminal Velocity. After the first week of being together we fought the Law Dogs and won the US Tag Team Titles.

Two months later we beat the reigning World Tag Team Champions, Big Daddy and Blackheart, in the first ever tag team ladder match in SEW history. That made Terminal Velocity the first ever Undisputed Tag Team Champions by being the first tag team at Sew to hold both the World and US Tag Team Championships. Two months of defending our Undisputed Championship we made out way to Hayneville, Alabama. My promoter confronted me backstage before the show and told me that I would be defending the championship alone. The reasoning he gave me was because my so-called best friend and partner were still holding a grudge against me for the time I left SEW. So he left me this time to go to another company to get what he thought he deserved, a heavyweight title shot. This news was devastating to me not only because my best friend had deserted me but also because a week prior to this match I had shattered my elbow in a six man tag match. I needed Mark more this week then ever before. So now I was left to defend the championship in Hayneville, injured and alone. Although I fought a good fight the odds, of course, were against me. After thirty minutes of intense fighting against each Big Daddy, Blackheart, and their manager U-Neek, I succumbed to the inevitable. I accepted defeat.

For the next six months I struggled to find my place at SEW. I was lost and betrayed and confused. I felt like things couldn’t get any worse. That’s when I was dealt another low blow. Tommy “Kingpin” King, the man that was my mentor, my best friend and like a second father to me, had passed away. After his death I decided to hang up my boots and take some much needed time away from wrestling to clear my head.

After about a month I met up with Kingpin’s best friend and right hand man Silverado. After a brief conversation, Silverado offered me a spot on the LAW roster. From August to December 2005, I wrestled just about every man on the LAW roster. I was preparing to take on one of my biggest adversaries ever, Tommy G, when tragedy struck again. I had sustained a serious knee injury that put me out of commission for the next two and a half months. As soon as I recovered I returned to the ring, taking on Big Tymer. After defeating Big Tymer I quickly moved back to the top of the roster, beating anyone that stood in my way.

I was nearing my three year anniversary of my wrestling career, in February of 2005. Things were again looking up for me. I married the love of my life, had the three most amazing years of wrestling under my belt, and found out that I had a son on the way. I continued to wrestle for LAW, and have recently make a comeback and performed a show once again for SEW.

I am currently taking time away from the wrestling spotlight to assess my goals and train my body to be in better condition. I will be returning to the wrestling world shortly!
